Louisville

We ventured to Louisville the past weekend for Matt & Jocelyn's baby shower. Violet is one precious spoiled angel :) Friday we all went to dinner, at the best pizza place known to man, along with another couple who we enjoy so much: Myron & Cindy Hobbs. After we went to Stevie Ray's and listened to some music. Stevie Ray's has had some meaningful experiences with us and the Bacons!

Saturday was Violet's baby shower. She got everything you could imagin. She's has an outfit for everyday of her infiant year and every toy to keep Matt & Jocelyn sane. It was a couple shower and even the men had a blast. The cake was WONDERFUL and some people were brave enough to eat the bootie!

Sunday we hung out and Owen played in the fountain and sprinkler along with their big yellow slide. He has so much at the Bacon's because he has so much room to play and their fenced in back yard is a life saver!

Our Summer

Okay where to start. Well I know I'm the worst person when it comes to keeping this thing going but I'm ready to admit I had no idea how to use my hard drive and keep picture organized. Well Kyle went out and bought me an external hard drive so I now have all my pictures organized and I know exactly what I'm doing.

Things are going good here in DC. We have been really busy this summer. Kyle and I finally went on our honeymoon to St. Lucia. It was beautiful, we got there the day after hurricane Dean so we had some trouble with our resort. We made the best of it. I mean we were in the Caribbean with no child and no cell phones... Needless to say we made it work.

Owen was at Grandma and Granddad Owen's house because we sent Owen to The Suggs's in July for 2 weeks. They had so much fun! We did not tell Steve, Owen was coming so when he went to pick up Sue from the airport he had a little surprise. Kyle and I were ready for Owen to come home. Of course Kyle and I had a lot of fun as well.

When our little man got home we took him down to Yorktown, VA and went to the beach. Owen is one HUGE beach fan. As soon as we took his shoe's off he ran straight into the water. To our disbelief Owen did not eat any sand!!! He had so much fun playing in the sand and the water. He took a fishing net from a little girl and played with that for an hour. We spent the rest of the day shopping and eating!!

But before all of this fun we had Owen's first birthday!!!!!!! We ended up having 2 parties, one in Louisville and one in DC. The one in Louisville we had at Aunt Sherrill's house and Owen loved it. The one in DC we had at Kyle's base and Owen hated it.

So that was our busy and long summer!
